勇士隊以3：1取得「聽牌」優勢，力拚台灣時間明天早上9時在2016年NBA總冠軍賽封王，不過主將格林（Draymond Green）因犯規動作被禁賽，投下變數。依照規定，他連球場都不能進入，但美國媒體指出，格林正在力爭能夠跟隊友一起慶祝封王。
第4戰時，格林因為對詹姆斯（LeBron James）在自己跌倒時從身上「跨過」感到不悅，出手攻擊詹姆斯的重要部位，惡性犯規累積達3次遭禁賽。
NBA官方接受「今日美國（USA TODAY）」訪問時表示，雖然這樣的判決會承受外界相當多批判，「但我們不能為了格林破例。」NBA認為格林出手的動作已是種報復心態行為，符合惡性犯規的內容，而格林自己應該要清楚，再有惡性犯規就會自動禁賽。
根據規定，如果明天勇士封王，被禁賽球員不得進場。但「Yahoo!」報導指出，格林正透過經紀團隊和球員工會出面力爭能夠在場邊觀戰，有高機率會成功。
勇士「浪花兄弟」柯瑞（Stephen Curry）、湯普森（Klay Thompson）均表示不能理解宣判，柯瑞說：「對於格林不能一起上陣感到爛透了。」但他也說，要替格林討回這一勝。
勇士少了一名主力，這是騎士唯一的機會，但談及格林遭禁賽，騎士總教練泰隆魯（Tyronn Lue）強調不能掉以輕心，他說：「格林被禁賽，不代表我們贏了。」泰隆魯表示勇士是一支很棒的球隊，「我們要做的事情就是把比賽帶回克里夫蘭，然後再到這裡。」
第5戰將在勇士主場舉行，勇士贏球就能完成二連霸，如果騎士能逃過危機，第6戰將回到克里夫蘭。
